The "art" of fundraisinImage titleg will be taking place this Thursday from 6-8pm at the Nyack High School, when three local non-profit groups will be exhibiting over 300 works of art from local and aspiring artists to help Africa, Rockland County, and Nyack

Joining forces will be the Nyack High School Visual Arts Department, Artworks, and SOS (Students Opposing Starvation).  And benefiting directly from this event will be Soup Angels of Nyack, Helping Hands of Rockland County, Midnight Run in NYC, and Mzuzu Academy in Malawi, Africa.

As part of the show, there will be 100  glazed "Empty Bowls" filled with delicious home made soup.  By purchasing a bowl ($15 for students and $20 for adults - the soup is free) you will be helping provide meals to the hungry through SOS, a Nyack High School group that has been active for over 30 years in trying to end world hunger.   After you purchase your "Empty Bowl" you can head over to the cafeteria where you'll be able to choose from around 20 different kinds of soups while listening to the school jazz band.

In addition, there will be 100 unique ArtCards created by local artists on sale for $20 that will benefit extra curricular art programs in the Nyack schools.  If you're an aspiring artist and want to contribute your own ArtCard, send an e-mail to JFusaro@nyackschools.com.

This is the 2nd year for this wonderful event and it should be a lot of fun while supporting some great causes.
