I always give generously when local organizations ask for money honey which goes towards the betterment of our community in some way or another. And so it was when i was asked by the Nyack Park Conservancy to be a paying guest (the tickets were only $95.00 each), to take part in one of their most memorable fundraising efforts to date. The NPC's Saturday Evening Spring Cocktail party and Reception at the Glen Iris Estate, an iconic Hudson River property in Upper Nyack, went off beautifully, without a hitch.

The party was wonderful- delicious food and delightful people- oh it was gorgeous and grand- a marvelous evening in every respect, one could not have hoped for more. The food, very inventive, was from the Palisades Market on Route 9W in Palisades, NY and all of the wines were particularly chosen by Joe Printz himself of Grape D'Vine in Tappan, NY. Eli Hardof of Wine For All in Orangeburg created a cocktail especially for this cocktail party and beers were provided by the Kuka Andean Brewing Company of Blauvelt, NY. There were so many gifts and so many stupendous silent auction offerings- too many to talk about here, but please go to the Nyack Park Conservancy's web site for more information if you are interested in all of the finer details or if you feel that you would like to make a tax deductible contribution to the cause yourself.
Unfortunately, at the last minute, I was unable to attend, however, I have heard from friends who were there that the people from this community who truly care that the children of Nyack have a park to play in that is playful, that is of the highest quality and which meets all of the current safety standards of the day, were there.
All of the funds raised from the Glen Iris Estate Cocktail Party and Reception will directly support the Playground Fundraising Effort. The goal for Phase I of $100,000.- has been met! The turnout for last night's fundraiser was absolutely astonishing. It was tremendous as was all of the hard work and skill put into making this event possible by the NPC itself and it's various Boards and Board Members . You are all to be lauded and applauded for this remarkable effort and result! I have heard that it was so beautiful and really and truly lovely. I have also been told by another friend who was present that a large portion of the funds raised- actually the difference or remainder after the tally from the party- was met by the largess and overwhelming generosity of Jo and Peter Baer, and that of Simone andJerry Chazen-and by the generosity of an anonymous donor. WOW! What a fun and fabulous way to start the summer!
