Nyack Park Conservancy Big Success

When Nyack Park Conservancy founders  Mayor Jen White and Bert Hughes asked me to take over as President of The Conservancy, I never dreamed we would have a Hollywood ending. At our fundraiser in Upper Nyack last Saturday  under the auspices of the Nyack Park Conservancy enough money was raised and pledged to construct Phase 1 for a new playground in Memorial Park. Due to the overwhelming generosity of the community and many generous donors we can proceed with plans for the new playground.  The evening was perfect starting with the weather – thank you weather gods!  Strolling around the grounds of the Glen Iris estate, listening to classical music, and looking out at the Hudson River, one felt that you were in another more gracious era closer to Downton Abby rather than the 21th century. Kudos to my wonderful board members, our amazing and gracious hosts,  and the community for all their effort in achieving this great cause that will benefit the entire Nyack Community. I am humbled by the generosity of so many, and proud to be part of the team that achieved our first goal. This was a grassroots effort fueled by concerned citizens wanting to make a difference. Bravo!
