Our Earth Day event takes place this year in the heart of the village on Main Street in the Veterans Park Gazebo. Featuring music, kid's activities, vendors, local environmental groups, government agencies and businesses.

Demonstrations and art projects that teach global awareness and local action. Visitors will enjoy a day of Earth-friendly how-to's, such as recycling, gardening and composting tips plus a diverse line-up of local artists providing live music; vendors and artisans offering environmentally friendly and sustainable products and services; children's activities; delicious natural foods, and loads of family fun.

I recently read "Zero Waste Lifestyle" book and got inspired with the new (to me) ideas about reducing waste. Mainly its about buying the products with as less packaging as possible, demanding from the manufacturers that the package is recyclable, composting, repurposing  what you already have and so much more. The book is available  at local libraries as well as online:

Bea Johnson, an author and a mom working full time, tells how we all can contribute to a healthier cleaner planet. Zero waste lifestyle actually has to do more with our activities outside our home than with what we do inside, she says:
