Nyack Celebrates Carson McCullers 2017

There are several events planned at the Nyack Library in 2017 to celebrate the life of Carson McCullers who lived and worked in Nyack.

On Sunday February 19 at 3:00 pm is Carson at 100: The McCullers Centennial. Presented by the Carson McCullers Center at Columbus State University and Nyack Library is : After Carson's "A Tree. A Rock. A Cloud." Original music is composed and performed by Liliya Ugay on piano, accompanied by Paul Neubauer on viola. After the musical performance there will be a dramatic reading of the short story, adapted and performed by poet/playwright John O'Keefe.  There will be a reception immediately following at The Carson McCullers House on 131 South Broadway, Nyack.

On March 23 at 7:00 pm, A Community Read Two McCullers Stories followed by discussion.

On March 25 the Rivertown Films and the Carson McCullers Center present "A Domestic Dilemma" and " A Tree A Rock A Cloud". That's at 8pm at the Nyack Center. Filmmakers Kristi Zea, Karen Allen, and Nick Norwood from the Carson McCullers Center will hold a Q&A.
