Nyack Barber Shop

From time to time I like to highlight a village merchant that for me exemplifies the joy of being part of a close knit community such as Nyack. My husband and many of our friends have talked about the Nyack Barber Shop on Main Street. It is just one of  those places. The owners name is Vlad,  and he always has a warm smile, and is genuinely happy to see you when you come through his door. His shop harks back to an almost bygone era where the barber shop was a place for community members to catch up with local gossip and talk politics as well. You can also relax read the day old copy of the Post or listen to Vlad’s pet parakeet singing merrily away by the cash register, but remember the  lollipops are only for children.
