Hudson Water Club in Haverstraw

Looking for something to do on these long, summer Friday and Saturday nights?  Look no further….check out some of the venues in Nyack & Piermont and surrounding areas,  grab some grub and listen to….better yet, dance to live tunes this summer.

Some of the local spots not to be missed in Nyack are The Pour House, Casa del Sol, Olive’s on Main, and Avida Wine Bar.  Then head south to Piermont where you can dine and dance on the Hudson at Pier 701, or of course, at the infamous Turning Point.  In nearby, historic Tappan, stop by the haunted 76 House to dine & perhaps dance with the ghosts of George Washington or Maj. John Andre.

If you want to stay on the river and don’t mind driving a bit to the north, one of my favorite places is The Hudson Water Club in Haverstraw.  I was there on Thursday and heard the Amish Outlaws, a local favorite.  If you’re really lucky, you can hear the Mighty Spectrum Band which is also a local favorite.  You can also catch them sometimes at the Whisky Kitchen in Valley Cottage or Austin’s in New City.

If you head south toward Jersey, you might stop in The Saloon in Pearl River which is a local family style restaurant that occasionally has live music on the weekends.  And be sure not to miss Rockland’s only brewery, the Defiant Brewery which has numerous homemade drafts and delicious B B-Q.

Venture west to Suffern and you’ll hear music, dance, and eat delicious Mexican food at Ole Ole.  If you want something very special, stop by Marcello’s Restaurant for Piano Bar Fridays and hear Carol Cardello play your favorite Italian tunes. You may want to make reservations for this one because it always a big hit.

I’m sure I’ve left a few out.  So to be sure you don’t, check out this Facebook page for Rockland County Nightlife & Entertainment!

Enjoy your summer! And Be Safe!

By the way, if you like the area so much and want to live here, be sure to check out my website for local properties.  Click here for home in Rockland County.
