Good afternoon everybody? How are you? Looks like I'm breaking this news before the Journal news. I was just reading the minutes of the last Town of Haverstraw board meeting, which took place on February 28th and I noticed an exciting announcement made by Supervisor Howard Phillips and Chief Miller of the Haverstraw Police Department. It appears that Haverstraw is finally getting a K-9 Unit which means that the tables have finally been turned on those who want to openly deal drugs in the streets of Haverstraw. The officer training will take 17 weeks and the pooch has all ready been selected! Chris Shulock from the Highway Department retrofitted an existing police cruiser to fit the needs of the Haverstraw K-9 Unit. So consider this your warning, the Canine Cops are almost on patrol!
