New City Fire Dept holds Relief Drive

The New City Volunteer Fire Dept. is holding a Relief Drive, to benefit those who have suffered from Hurricane Sandy in Breezy Point, NY.  More than 100 homes were destroyed by Sandy and the related fire.  This is a wonderful opportunity for the New City community to come together, and help those who were affected. The drive started on Saturday, and they already collected enough donations to filled a tracker trailer.  Let's continue with this great effort and show the people of Breezy Point that they are not forgotten.  The drive will continue this week, Mon.- Fri. from 6-9pm.  Please bring your donations to the New City Fire House, 15 Maple Ave., New City, NY

Sorry, they cannot accept any clothing items.  But here are items that can be donated:

- Blankets.

- Non-perishable food items, such as canned soups/vegetables, canned soups, boxed pasta, etc.

- Cases of water.

- Cases of sports drinks, such as Gatorade.

- Coffee/Tea/hot chocolate mixes

- Personal hygiene items such as soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, contact lens solution, etc.

- Baby wipes/diapers.

- Cleaning materials.

- Work gloves.

- All sizes of batteries.

- Flashlights

- extension cords

- generators

- sleeping bags

- towels
