On Tuesday, July 1 at 7:30 in Memorial Park in Nyack, the Orangetown Concert Band under the direction of Charles Yassky, will be performing a free concert "An American Salute". They will be performing songs from the American Songbook, Broadway show tunes, Opera, and Sousa marches. There will also be a musical reading of the Gettysburg Address by Nyack resident Elliott Forrest of WQXR and WNYC.
The program is free and is part of the Mostly Music Series by the Friends of the Nyacks. Additional support is from the Nyack Teachers Association and the Education Association of South Orangetown.
These programs are held throughout the summer on Tuesday evenings and are always so much fun.
Tell your friends and bring your blankets, chairs, and a picnic and prepare to enjoy a great concert under the stars in a spectacular Hudson River setting.
