Last week, you would have seen me and many of the other directors at the Nyack Center Board meeting bopping in our seats. Lucky for us though maybe not productive, the Mostly Music Concert, was moved to Nyack Center due to the sticky weather. As we tried to focus in our meeting, we were treated to Steve Bernstein and band playing awesome jazz! I was reminded pleasantly of the series. This August, there will be three final outdoor concerts as part of the Mostly Music Festival in Nyack's Memorial Park. The concert, organized by Friends of the Nyacks and sponsored by 2 of Nyack's most generous business', Maria Luisa on South Broadway and Eyevolution Optique on Franklin near Depew, is held in the gazebo with the sparkling Hudson River as the backdrop. Tonight, John Malino Band (one of our favorite local bands) will perform with Charlie Caldarolla on drums, Jim West on keyboard, Sue Williams on bass, and Allen Won on saxophone. It starts at 7:30 pm. Folks start gathering much earlier enjoying their picnic dinners and wine and everyone spreads out their blankets and beach chairs. There are 2 more concerts after tonight's: August 9th: Mayra Casales and the Coco Mamas August 16th: Ayn Saf Arkestra: Klezmer meets Mingus If the weather is questionable call 845-358-4793 for an alternate location! Though tonight, I doubt we are going to experience any bad weather...so perhaps I'll see you there!
