85 miles of beautiful hiking trails are located at the beautiful Mohunk Mountain House grounds in New Paltz. There are challenging hikes over rocks and cliffs or leisurely stroll along manicured paths and carriage roads. Some of the more popular hikes include the Sky Top Tower. This can be accessed easily along a carriage road or you can work up a sweat going up the rock scramble culminating in a ladder climb through a narrow crevice. The hike to Copes Lookout offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. The Eagle cliff is another easy hike with amazing views. If you want to really push yourself, the hike to Bonticou Crag will reward your hard work with the most amazing views of all.

It’s not cheap with a day pass going for $21 or $55 for a family, but there few hiking venues like this. Of course if you are felling really “flush” dinner at the lodge is an experience all to itself. They also offer horseback riding, spa treatments, tennis, and golf.Image title
