Each year, the Nyack Boat Club offers an 8 week LEARN TO SAIL program to Adults who would like to hone their sailing skills.  If you would like to be fortunate enough to participate in these “no cost” lessons, you have to sign up quickly.  There is only room aboard for the first 27 people who register.  The program meets once a week, for 8 weeks, from 6:00pm on Thursday evenings, beginning Thursday, June 4th. Want a spot? Click here to download the agreement form:

As mentioned, the lessons don’t cost anything, but there is a $50 refundable “place holder” fee, which is returned at the end of the program, to assure that those who sign up  will actually show up to the lessons.  Perhaps these lessons are a way for the boat club to give back to the community as well as to ensure that the waters of the Hudson River are safely traveled by all. The more knowledge recreational boaters have, the safer our waters will be.

Instructions will be given to help understand the sailboat, procedures and handling of the vehicle, navigation and wind direction and, of course, rules and safety of sailing on the open waters.

It’s said that registration for this program fills up fast, so don’t hesitate if you think you want to get out there and sail this summer.

Fill out the form from the link above. Make your check payable to Ensign Fleet 51 and send with the form to Richard Feldman, 3 Sophia Dr. West Nyack, NY 10994.

For more information about this LEARN TO SAIL program, contact Richard directly at ensign1450@gmail.com.

Happy Sailing!
