Operation Slow Down is targeting new streets in Nanuet, New City, Valley Cottage, Bardonia, West Nyack, & Congers this month. Traffic control efforst will be stepped up on the following streets:

Clarkstown P.D. receives a lot of complaints from residents about speeders and responds with the Operation Slow Down activities. These include patrol officers traveling the side streets and traffic officers with radar covering the highways and major roadways in the town.

The purpose of this public safety program is to educate residents and raise awareness about the dangers of speeding, as well sa to provide increased enforcement. Anyone who has had someone blast past them as if they are standing still on some of our local roadways will appreciate this program.

Now if we could also address people who can't wait for you to get out of their way and ride just behind your rear bumper . . . . but that is for another day!  Be safe everyone!
