Image titleIt’s early on Thursday afternoon and NJ Governor Christie just declared a state of emergency due to the newly classified, category 3, Hurricane Joaquin.  The National Hurricane Center states the storm will start heading northwest and north from the Bahamas on Friday night and Saturday.  If it travels North along the coast It could hit our area on Tuesday morning packing winds as high as 120mph with over 1 foot of rain.  As always it is best to be prepared. Secure items around your home that could be blown around during high winds; be sure to have a supply of batteries in case of power failure. Check leaders and gutters around your home to be sure they are secure and free of debris that could back up and cause flooding to your home. Also make sure your car has an ample amount of gas. Keep a close watch to weather updates.
