It Starts At Seven

The Oscars are looming large on my horizon. I've seen all of the movies and I am prepared. I have my picks with very, very good (albeit sometimes very convoluted) reasons why) and I can't wait to settle into my favorite, most comfortable chair, put my feet up and watch to my hearts content. This is just about the only time and occasion  where I fully indulge myself. I'll tuck into a nice warm bowl of Lucio Garofalo star pastini with a pitty-pat of butter and some grated locatelli, some oven roasted skinny asparagus with oil and lemon, sprinkled sparingle, but lovingly with sea-salt-, a melange of fruits for dessert,- and I will be as happy as a clam. Even happier!
What I really love seeing- just like most of you (admit it!) are the long swan-like necks of the  beautiful actresses dripping with jewels and diamonds, their ears like little polished sea shells, decorated with more jewels- the bracelets, the rings, the BLING! The up-do's the do-don'ts and the pompadours. The men, elegant and debonair in their tuxes or suits and the women, OH the women, in those gorgeous gowns, the finery and frippery. All of those beautiful gowns and frocks from mostly European designers whose name's I can not pronounce. But, the interviewers will no doubt inform me as to who is wearing what anyway- that is their job. Oh and the titillating chance of a wardrobe malfunction to spice things up?
And dear Ellen DeGeneres, the host(ess), Queen or King for the day and night, lording it over the gentlemen and the ladies.
I know that you all might think none of this means anything to me at all, as you only see me ever and always in black, but I like to have my bit of fun too!See you there!
