In Like A Lion Out Like A Lamb

I have no idea what top speeds the wind reached last night here in Nyack but I am sure that they were at least in the upper 40's and with the pinging of the tiny hard snow drops- you couldn't really call it hail- there was not much sleep to be had along South Broadway in Nyack.

Some of the hardy emerging crocai which I look after as if they are each and every one my own little babies were badly damaged. Those first signs of spring right around the corner had a rough time of it last night. They really took a hit!

Well, I might be getting the months and analogies alll wrong but, hopefully, February will go out like a lion and March will come in like a lamb and go out like a kitten???You know what I mean.

And with Lent, Easter and Passover filling up all of the days of the calendar in between, we have many days to be thoughtful and pensive, to give up special things for Lent (for 40 days and nights- right?) and to give thanks to the angel of death for passing over those ancient houses millenia ago, marked with the blood of the lamb.

And then, and then... to eat as many yellow (and now pink and lavendar and other colors) marshmallow Easter chicks and chocolate bunnies, as many jelly beans, chocolate covered matzahs and as much halvah as we can cram into our mouths as is possible! I, for one, intend to do my part by indulging my very own, very sweet tooth to the hilt!

I will check out the Chocolatiere on South Broadway in Nyack. The New Candy Store on South Broadway- also in Nyack. I will enjoy Jane's icecream at Temptations on Main Street- I know they make the Lemon Pound Cake icecream only in the summer time so, this gives me a chance to stop in occasionally and order my old favorites like  their Muddy Sneakers, their Pistachio Crunch and their Red Velvet Cake icecream and fall in love all over again! And of course, Didier Dumas puts me into a sweet swoon the second I walk through their door on Main Street.  I love Nyack!
