House Party For Water

Local musicians say NO to Desal on September 28th. There is still time for you to buy your ticket on  the website below. This is a wonderful fundraiser for the Rockland Water Coalition in their continuing fight against the enormous, megalithic French owned Suez Water. It is a fight on a huge scale, requiring a lot of money to pay the expenses related to educational outreach and funding for experts in their fields, to testify on behalf of "the people." Last year many remarkable restaurants  (35!) in Rockland County participated in Water Week in Rockland in advance of the September/ October  Public Service Commission/United Water NY Suez hearings. The restauant rabble-rousing was instrumental in galvanizing the citizens of Rockland County to come out to those hearings-(over 1,600 people participated in the long nights of testimony). It was reported that the PSC was shocked by the turn out and the RWC was  delighted!
This year the Rockland Water Coalition (comprised of 35 + groups dedicated to environmental justice) is hosting a House Party For Water, as Musicans - David Amram, Tom Chapin and Jeremy Wall, rally for safe, clean water! These musicians are all humanitarians with hearts of gold, stepping up to the plate for Rockland. Some of the same restaurants that participated in last years Water Week event, are supplying tasty treats and delicious desserts. This event is happening at Rocklands coolest geothermal house. Check it out at musicianssaynodesal.myevent.com. As Pete Seeger said: "Participation - that's what's gonna save the human race."
