Before you know it, Spring will be here, it’s time to get out and enjoy nature and the fresh air. Get off your treadmill and take to the trails near Rockland County New York.
Bear Mountain State Park has hiking, and biking trails that run through the rugged mountains rising from the west bank of the Hudson River, there is much to see including trailside museums and The Bear Mountain Zoo. Climb to the top at The Perkins Memorial Tower for a spectacular view of the park, Perkins Memorial Drive and Tower is open from April through late November. https://parks.ny.gov/parks/13/details.aspx
Palisades Interstate Park Commission has over 30 miles of marked hiking trails from easy riverside strolls along the Hudson River to challenging rock scrambles up the mighty Palisades. Two main trails, both designated National Recreation Trails, cover most of the 12-mile length of the park from north to south.
