Good afternoon everybody! How are you today?
If you are like me and appreciate nature and live in Rockland, you probably are familiar with Hi-Tor Mountain, the highest peak in the County. If you aren't, its the mountain that separates New City
and it runs along South Mountain Rd. There is some great hiking for all different levels and its a great way to be healthy and have fun at the same time because we both know the elliptical at the gym is boring!
So, this Saturday June 4th is National Trails Day and to celebrate that a group of people from Renew Haverstraw
are leading a hike to the top of Hi-Tor Mountain, where you will have great views of NYC and the rolling hills of Westchester, its truly a beautiful site.
The group will meet at 10 am in the Northern Riverview Health Center parking lot located on 87 S. Route 9W in Haverstraw
, there is a trail head in the back of the building that will take you straight to the top with easy to medium difficulty.
The weather for this Saturday is 80 degrees and sunny with a light breeze, which is really great hiking weather, I would recommend wearing long pants, t-shirt is ok and good hiking shoes/boots.
Until next time....
