Once again,  People to People has a wonderful program called Back to School With Dignity  to support local school age children achieve success in school this year. Here’s what you need to know about Back to School With Dignity and how you can help.  Since 1994, the non-profit organization located at 121 West Nyack Road in Nanuet has been providing students in grades K through 12 from low-income families with school supplies that get them started with the tools they need to have a successful school year.  The program has grown from providing 35 backpacks full of supplies in 1994 to school age children to an expected 2,500 this year.

Grants, financial contributions and collection efforts have come from numerous local businesses and civic organizations.  But that’s not to say individuals cannot still contribute. They can!  There are still two weeks left.  Here’s what you do:  When you are out shopping, purchase school supplies listed below and drop them off at the People to People office at 121 West Nyack Road in Nanuet (one street over from Rockland Bakery).

It is said, “Education is widely acknowledged as a key factor in breaking the cycle of poverty.”  Let’s help Rockland’s children start off on the right foot this school year by contributing to BACK TO SCHOOL WITH DIGNITY!
