If you have not been to Joe Prince's new wine store, Grape D'Vine, in Sparkill, then by all means hurry on down!  Joe's wine store is all part of the Sparkill renaissance...or as my friends who moved to town from California put it:  "Let's put the sparkle back into Sparkill"!

With the assistance of his architect, Meg Fowler, and builder, Steve Lubek of Greenbush Construction, Joe has built a wonderful barn-like structure whose interior resembles a very, very large wine barrel...iron staves and all!  All the wood was reclaimed chestnut from the original old house that was on the property when Joe bought it.
The wine shelving, also wood, contains over 600 bottles of wine from all over the world...and each wine has it's own little description written as only Joe can write.
Since the opening on August 17th, Joe has had two winemakers visit from France and two from Italy.  Next Wednesday, November 13th, with be Pinot Noir Night starting around 7 - 7:30.  If you are interested in attending, please call 845.359.2141 or email:  Attendance is do it now!
Grape D'Vine is open Tuesday thru Saturday from 11am to 8pm and Sunday from 12noon to 5pm. Closed on Monday.  The shop is located at 6 Depot Square in the heart of Sparkill and there is plenty of parking!
And coming January of 2014... Joe plans to open a 48-54 seat restaurant/bar called  D'Vine Bar adjacent to his wine store.
