Looking out at the Tappan
Zee Bridge barely visable through the fog I contemplate which source of culture is most enticing for a short excursion on a Saturday morning. We in Nyack
are so close to many choices of creative food for the soul. The DIA Foundation up the Hudson River only 40 mins. in Beacon is a great source of exposure to incredible works of art by world renowned artists in a magical setting along the Hudson River.A total escape is possible when you sit inside a Richard Serra sphere or climb under a Louise Bourgeois giant spider.Great cafe too.The town of Beacon has been transformed by the presence of DIA. Another choice is Storm King to the north again about 40mins. from Nyack
;an outdoor sculpture feast for your soul and great exercise for the kids;giant Michael di Suvero swings and Mary Miss secret shelters are a great source of interesting engagement for all ages but spring thru fall are best. But then again our Nyack
born artist Edward Hopper is being shown at the Whitney Museum in NYC again only 45mins from Nyack
in good traffic right now.Good choices for a day of art to feed my soul and easy to connect to;by car or Metro North Train.
