Like everyone says, the river towns of Nyack and Piermont are a perfect place to plan a day trip or weekend getaway.
For dining and entertainment, you will find great experiences at any of the Nyack and Piermont restaurants, and do not forget the eateries on the river.  With regard to theaters and cultural activities, we have the Elmwood Playhouse, which is currently showing 2 one act of an outrageous comedy.
There is the Edward Hopper House, which has been in existence as an art center and museum since 1971.
If one is interested in physical exercise, they may get involved with the Rockland Bike Club, which has many rides with a starting point in the Nyacks and Piermont.
