It seems that there is a "national ______ day" for just about everything these days. But, I figured what better day to share this cooking tidbit that I just found, than National Corn on the Cob Day.
Clarkstown Shredding And Electronic Recycling Event Repeat
Dated: May 1 2015
The last one (April 18th) saw people turned away as early as 11AM for shredding, so the town has decided to fill up 2 trucks with shredded papers for a 2nd event on May 9th. Location is the parking lot at Germonds Park on Germonds Road in West Nyack. Proof of residency will be required and checked.
The limit for shredding is 3 "banker's boxes" or 2 town paper recycling containers. For additional information, you can call 845-639-2050
There doesn't appear to be a limit on the electronic recycling that can be dropped off. On April 18th, I dropped off a TV, an old cell phone, 2 printers, and a few other miscellaneous items. It felt so good to get that stuff out of my house, I'm now looking for additional items to take to the May 9th event! The electronic recycling is done by ARC and benefits their programs, so it is a great opportunity to contribute to ARC as well as to empty your house of old "stuff" that is sitting around gathering dust! All hard drives and data storage devices will be destroyed as part of the ARC process. Questions about the electronic recycling can be directed to 845-450-5900.
So, even though it doesn't feel like spring has really arrived yet, here's another great opportunity to get rid of all the stuff that turned up from your spring cleaning!!
