Kids love to run, jump, climb and just be active.  So I have decided to zero in on a few parks in Rockland County.

Nyack Memorial Park is located on Piermont Ave in Nyack, and for kids who are not in to playground equipment, they can enjoy the tennis, basketball courts and baseball fields. The park also has a butterfly garden, and bathrooms.  On Tuesday evenings, during the summer, a "mostly music" program is hosted.
Rockland Lake State Park on Rte. 9W in Congers has two golf courses, a par 3 and a par 72 Executive Course.  The Park also offers tennis courts, picnicking, two large swimming pools with changing areas, boating, fishing and a wonderful nature center.
If your children are into a little bit of exercise, they can walk or bike the 3.2 path around the lake.  Also, there are many fields available for soccer, football, softball, badminton and many other games.
In my next blog, I will review additional parks in such town as Chestnut Ridge, Congers, Montebello, New City and others.  So try them all, and see which ones your child enjoys most.
