BACK TO SCHOOL GUIDE

For parents from Nyack to Spring Valley, to Ramapo, there are tricks for getting your kids to school on time.  As a former teacher, I learned for kids, it was all about separation. I'm not making this up, I have learned this from being in the teaching field myself.  To ease the separation, it may be a good idea for your child to bring a small toy or book with them to school, something with familiarity.

Organization, make sure all of the elements are in place the night before, ex: lunch box, shoes, backpacks. Many parents recommend setting up a sticker chart.  If the kids manage to get dressed, brush teeth, etc, according to schedule, they receive rewards.

Getting a good night sleep is very important for a child going to school.  No matter the routine, a child needs to get to bed early enough to be well rested the next day.

Hopefully these few tips will lead to a more productive and healthy school year.
