What's very interesting about the Art Cafe's expansion, is that it's happening during a time when there is a lot of uncertainty in the economy. It's encouraging to see a small family run cafe take a chance and double their size. What's New? Well for starters, they will be open later...7am to 9pm, there's more seating, new espresso bar, free Wi-Fi, live music scheduled, loose leaf teas, a new Art Cafe coffee blend, new menu, and something their calling a smArt Cafe....where locals who want to share their expertise, knowledge, or passion with the community are invited to participate in a lecture series. All in all, it's like we have a new cafe/restaurant..but with the same flavor and style that we loved with the orginal. There is a good business lesson to be learned here---when you start very small like they did, you get a chance to make mistakes, learn from them, make adjustments, and capitalize on opportunities. And that's what they did. A big congratulations to the Kramer family, and especially to Dan who has really taken the lead and helped create a really cool, stylish, and hip new cafe in Nyack.
