Furniture Sharehouse is an amazing organization that provides free furniture to disadvantaged families and individuals living in Westchester County. Donations are collected and redistributed to clients as needed. Social service agencies refer clients, who are brought by appointment to the warehouse where volunteers consult with and help them select furniture from the inventory.  These families are provided  with basic household furnishings to enable them to rebuild their lives with dignity.  The clientele consists of families and individuals moving out of homeless shelters, battered women and children of domestic violence, working families struggling at the poverty line, young adults leaving foster care and fire and natural disaster victims. Furniture Sharehouse was founded in 2006 through the dedicated work of Kate Bialo and The Junior League of Westchester on the Sound. The JLWOS with a matching HUD grant from Westchester County secured warehouse space and opened in April 2007. How can you help?
