Governor Cuomo has announced New York State will spend $90 million on state parks, and $18 million has been earmarked for the Hudson Valley Region.  The purpose of this project is to repair and improve the vastly used state parks and historic sites, which would be a boost to Rockland and Orange County recreation and tourism.

Within our area, Bear Mountain State Park in Stony Point and Rockland State Park in Congers will receive funds to improve their swimming pool bathhouses, along with improvements at Harriman State Park.  Also, Rockland Lake State Park in Congers will receive funds for improvements in their golf course irrigation system, which is very much needed!
Along with all this, Nyack Beach State Park will see design improvements in the entrance road and retaining wall repair.
Let's hope the State will begin these projects by the summer!
