Wishing All Of Nyack A Healthy 2020

January is the time of New Year resolutions. Gym memberships surge as people vow to add a healthy work out into their lives. The sad thing is by February, those exercise machines are idle again. Many a New Year’s resolution has fallen by then. Exercise decreases stress which is the most proven method to extend your life and increase the quality at the same time. You could say exercise is the “Fountain of Youth”. An often overlooked benefit of a regular exercise program is decreased injuries. Strength training has been shown to help increase bone density, resulting in less osteoporotic fractures, the number one geriatric injury. Increased muscle tone also makes you less likely to fall as your core strength can often overpower gravity. I certainly don’t have to go into the heart benefits of cardio training.  We all know heart disease is a leading killer. Walking the treadmill can add years to your life.
