Skateboarding in Nyack at Memorial Park

Nyack’s Village Hall was packed on Feb 28. What issue attracted so many you might ask. Well it wasn’t to complain about anything, but they were there to voice their support for a  proposed skate plaza in Memorial Park. The crowd was a mélange of kids, young moms, business people, and teens. 

Proponents of the skate plaza say skateboarding is great exercise, and is safer than other sports such as cycling, baseball, and basketball.  They also say a well- built plaza requires little maintenance, and would only add 600 dollars to our insurance premium.
