The Great American Cleanup Haverstraw Greenway Trail

Good afternoon everybody! How are you today! I just got word about another event that might peak your interest if you care about the quality of life here in the Village of Haverstraw. This Saturday at 9:30 am come meet other fellow Haverstraw Village residents and the folks from Keep Rockland Beautiful when they hit the Haverstraw Greenway Trail to cleanup the trash that unfortunately the scum bags of this earth throw on the ground. Do we leave it there and only complain about how a cleanup should be done? NO, we organize and assemble and bring the human spirit together to do the work that for some reason our Rockland County government does not. The Haverstraw Greenway trail is entrenched in American History, its where Major Andre was captured and the place where the American revolution was won, along the mountains that overlook the Hudson River, these strategic points helped the revolutionaries relay the word that the British were coming. But I digress, back to 2011. If you have never walked the trail that connects Haverstraw to Rockland Lake to Hook Mountain in Nyack, well then this Saturday is a great way to see it for the 1st time, you will be amazed at the beauty. There are even some spots along the trail where you can hike down towards the water and there are 100 yard long beaches that right now, need to be cleaned up but, they are hidden GEMS!
