Piermont Restaurant Portofino Reopens In Time For Holidays
Last night was the official re-opening of Portofino, one of Piermont’s premier restaurants… And what a full house it was! After suffering much damage and destruction due to Hurricane Sandy, followed by dedication, money, and hard work, from the owners and staff, a favored Italian restaurant of many locals has joyfully and with gusto once again opened its door to hungry patrons.
The food last night was delicious! I had the Insalata Romano which was dressed with a delicate splash of vinegar and oil and a half portion of classic Spaghetti Bolognese which was about as good as it gets. My friends had Scampi Portofino over Cappellini, Bistecca alla Umbria (Sliced Sirloin steak over broccoli rabe, cannellini beans & roasted garlic), and the Flounder Oreganato, the special of the evening. Accompanying my meal was a full bodied Montepulciano, of which every drop I savored. Everything was served with perfect timing and by a very efficient, pleasant, wait staff. The ambiance was warm, cozy, and inviting.
Looking for something special to do during these dark days of winter…have dinner at Portofino in Piermont. You won’t regret it! Buon Appetitto!
