I'm very excited to share the news with you that a wonderful new restaurant has opened this week in Congers, The Station Kitchen and Bar. It's located across the street from the train station, hence the name, in a newly renovated building, at 71 N. Rockland Ave. Congers.

I was invited along with my husband and a friend to sample dinner at a soft opening on Tuesday night, and we left very satisfied, delighted, and excited  to have a new, local restaurant to enjoy and call home.

The owners are longtime Rockland residents, Mark Crescenzo and Larry Adler. Both have years of experience in the restaurant business, Mark as a manager of a very successful Nyack restaurant, and Larry, as chef of a successful Stony Point restaurant.

Their vision for the Station Kitchen and Bar was to create a warm, friendly, and inviting neighborhood atmosphere.  The emphasis is on traditional American comfort food and fresh seafood. The choices range form burgers and salads, to salmon, to chicken cordon bleu and much more. As an appetizer at the bar we had the homemade chips sprinkled with blue cheese bits and balsamic, it was fabulous.  They have an extensive wine and beer selection, and delicious specialty cocktails.

Bring your friends and hang at the bar, bring the family, or enjoy a romantic dinner. The Station Kitchen and Bar is perfect  for anyone who loves classic, fresh, home cooking, with a modern flair. Oh...and the prices are affordable too.

They are open 7 days a week for dinner and a party room is available as well.
