I am beyond ecstatic this morning to find out that Super Bowl  LII will be the FIRST  Zero-Waste Big Game!

In previous years, the majority of waste generated by the Super Bowl crowd would end up in landfill. But this year, the NFL, along with U.S. Bank Stadium, the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority, food service provider Aramark, and sponsoring company PepsiCo are teaming up in an attempt to host the first-ever zero-waste Super Bowl.

All of us can make a difference and still enjoy the party. Here are some suggestions:

1. Buy draft beer from your local brewery or some bars will sell it too. It's usually less expensive and less wasteful, especially if you are using packaging you already have.

2. Consider making your own snacks and eliminate chips and other packaged food.  It's healthier, cheaper and better for the environment.

3. Consider using real beer glasses/mugs, plates and utensils.

Enjoy the game, save money and feel like a Super Hero, knowing that YOU are making a positive difference in the world, and it starts in your own home!
