Summer Programs for Orangetown Kids
I picked up my 7 year old grandson this morning at the Pearl River Middle School. He is enrolled in a five day summer program called Secret Agent Lab for first through fifth graders. They had just finished making stealth airplanes of the folded paper variety. What made these planes different from the ones I used to make is that an invisible ink stamp was used to include a secret message that was then flown from one kid to another. Prety cool. The program cost $170 for the five days, and is only one of several offered by the Orangetown Parks and Recreation office. Earlier in the summer, my 10 year old granddaughter took a course called Cooking With Cooktivity. The price for that was $120, a small price to pay for five mornings of activities, plus a little more p and q for mom and dad.
