Snowboarding at Tuxedo Ridge
Snowboarding season is fast approaching and my kids are psyched! Boots, bindings and boards are ready to go. This brings me to recommend Tuxedo Ridge in, of course, Tuxedo Park, NY. Just about a 35 minute ride from New City, this is a great place to go for a full or half day of snowboarding (no two plankers in my house!)
By the way, they are celebrating their 50th year! You can check out their page on Facebook where you'll find an updated list of all upcoming season events at the mountain. There's also a link to their regular website. If you want season passes now you can get $50 off if you purchase by Monday. They also offer snow tubing, private and group lessons and more. There is a small restaurant/lodge area, lockers for your stuff and you can rent any equipment you may need. There's plenty of free parking too.
This is a good place for all skill levels, kids and beginners too--there is a bunny hill for practice. The trails are well groomed and there is a good variety of levels. But the question is...when will they put in a half pipe? My kids are waiting.....
