The 26th annual train show at the breathtaking NY Botanical gardens is open to the public through January 15, 2018. A mere 45 minutes from Nyack, remarkable G-scale model trains chug along a half mile of track. They pass around, under, through and above over 150 New York iconic landmarks created out bark, leaves, acorns, pine cones, and twigs. Every turn brings a new surprise as you are amazed at the recreations these talented people have built. Familiar structures like Grand central station and the Empire State Building are mesmerizing, but the unexpected things really blew me away. They have rebuilt the old TWA terminal with a runway and a jet made out of gourdes. The statue of Liberty made out of Palm leaves. The Brooklyn, George Washington, Manhattan, and other Bridges recreated with meticulous detail. They even have Hudson valley structures like Boscobel and Lyndhurst Castle.  Hudson River light houses, Grant’s tomb, Gracie Mansion, Yankee stadium, The World’s fair grounds…I could go on and on.  Please make it your business to visit this wonderful exhibit. Afterwards enjoy a delicious Italian meal in the NY’s only authentic “Little Italy” found on Arthur Avenue a few blocks away.Image title
