I discovered Rockland in 1971 when I became the Executive Director of the Rockland Center for the Arts. During the next 12 years, I learned to appreciate the uniqueness of this historic county from the majestic Hudson River and the river villages to the Ramapo Mountains in the north. I found a haven in the balance of quaint hamlets, charming villages, wonderful parklands and a slower pace of life in close proximity to Manhattan (as they say in the real estate ads... just 35 minutes from Broadway). My family and I settled in Grand View on Hudson in 1983. I continued my life in the arts as a consultant to artists and art and environmental organizations. I served as a member of the New York State Council of the Arts Board of Review, the Rockland County Arts in Public Place Commission and the Nyack Hospital Board of Trustees. In 1997 I became a full time real estate salesperson, enabling me to devote my energy and professional experience representing clients and friends, listing their homes and servicing a host of new friends in their search for the perfect property and discovery of their "sense of place".
